In addition to the hundreds of vendors from around the country that

BUZZ SIMMONS MEMORIAL RACES
This new vintage racing program, sponsored by the well-renown Badger
Racing Association and S-K Service of Hatley, Wisconsin, will be held
on Friday, August 15 at 7:30 PM. Six different classes of vintage

HUGE SWAP MEET!
Looking for a part to complete that restoration or a new vintage bike
to add to your collection? Have an old bike or parts to sell? If so,
then this is the place! Thousands of vintage motorcycles and parts
will be available from vendors who travel in from throughout the USA
and Canada to sell their wares at this event!

NEW CHILDRENS’ ARCADE AREA:
The VJEMC, in keeping with the goals of having this as a family event,
is providing an arcade area with games for children of all ages. These
games will be indoors at one of the many fairgrounds buildings.

FEATURED SPEAKERS-John Eng and Pete Dujanovich
TOPIC: The One Hour Bike Teardown!!! Join our two favorite VJEMC
humorists and bike repair/restoration experts in this fun-filled and
informative session. If you seen "Click and Clack" from the automobile
world, Pete and John are the "Click and Clack" of the motorcycling
arena! During this session, our tech gurus will attempt to tear down
an entire bike in approximately an hour, telling people what parts to
save, what parts to restore, and what parts to fling across the room
into the trash bin! Watch out for flying parts in this session, as
well as flying insults, barbs, and anything else that might be
entertaining! Not to be forgotten is how these guys will explain what
some of the various parts of a motorcycle are and what they do, which
will help all attendees fix many of their own tech issues. Questions
are encouraged, and don't be too surprised if the boys throw a wrench
at spectators and ask them to jump in! This highly interactive session
will be loads of fun for everyone, with an emphasis on the FUN-
damentals of motorcycle repair and restoration! And don't
worry......Pete and John know this is a family event, so kids are
welcome and encouraged to attend! The VJEMC encourages young
motorcycling enthusiasts to be a part of the club!

FEATURED SPEAKER-VJEMC Staff
TOPIC: How to grade and evaluate a vintage motorcycle
Members of the VJEMC staff will put on a clinic about how to properly
grade a motorcycle using examples from the IVMS vintage motorcycle
show as examples. This will help enthusiasts determine how judges
often evaluate bikes at shows, as well as help people put an
appropriate value on bikes for insurance purposes. If you are buying a
vintage motorcycle, the VJEMC staff will help patrons determine what
to look for to see if the bike they are buying is actually what it is
advertised to be! For those who are restoring a vintage motorcycle,
people will learn how to take good care of their bike so the condition
stays high and the bike does not deteriorate.

FEATURED SPEAKER-George G. Grauwels
TOPIC: Vintage motorcycle repair questions and answer session
George, or “G Cubed” as he is known in vintage motorcycling circles,
is a retired factory tech specialist from the Honda Motor Corporation
who has worked on thousands of vintage bikes from the Honda line, as
well as those in his personal collection. He will have an open forum,
tech question and answer session with the idea of helping vintage
enthusiasts who are having problems getting their bikes running.
George is filled with many stories about his days with Honda, which is
certain to entertain the crowd.

FEATURED SPEAKER-Jerry Smith
TOPIC: Riding across Africa!
Jerry is a world-renown author who penned the book “Into the Heart of
Africa,” about his journey by motorcycle across the African continent
from Magala to Mombasa. Join him as he recollects his journey across
the hottest desert on the earth, arduous river crossings, and unusual
people he encountered along the way. Jerry is a member of the Iowa
Motorcycle Dealers Hall of Fame, a competitive racer, and has spent 48
years in motorcycling.

FEATURED EVENT-Calendar Shoot
VJEMC Vintage Biker Babes Calendar
The VJEMC will be holding a photo shoot for its 2009 Vintage Biker
Babes Calendar, which is a fundraiser for this non-profit
organization. This calendar will feature women of all ages, who will
be dressed in biker gear and vintage biker clothing, on a selection of
vintage motorcycles that will be entered in the IVMS show. Women who
are interested in being part of the calendar should come to the event
with appropriate biker clothing and be ready at noon on Saturday,
August 16 for this event. The VJEMC is also looking for a wide variety
of makes and models of motorcycles to use in the shoot, and bike
owners are encouraged to bring their vintage bikes for this purpose.
Those bikes and women chosen for the shoot will receive their photos
free for their personal use and copies of the 2009 calendar as well.
For more details, contact the VJEMC office at 877-853-6210

FEATURED EVENT-Indoor Vintage Motorcycle Show
The annual vintage motorcycle show is a highlight of the IVMS. Five
different classes of trophies are given out for vintage motorcycles 15
years old and older. There include American (Indian, Harley, etc…);
Japanese (Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Bridgestone, etc…); British
(Triumph, Norton, BSA, Vincent, etc…); European (BMW, Moto Guzzi,
etc…); and Vintage Customs. There will also be an award for the worst
looking old bike entering the show (must be a running bike) for the
annual “Rat Bike” trophy. Awards will also be given to the bike
entering the show that was ridden the farthest to arrive at the IVMS
(bike must not be trailered!) and the oldest bike in the show. Bikes
will be judged by qualified judges, and awards will be given for first
through fourth place in each category. An equal number of awards will
also be given out in each category as “Peoples’ Choice Awards,” as
patrons of the IVMS will get to vote for their favorite motorcycles.
Register a show bike for $6 in advance or $10 at the gate.

THE ANNUAL BIKE CORRAL!
For individuals who have a running motorcycle to sell but who do not
need a full swap space, the IVMS Bike Corral is a great way to expose
a bike to thousands of potential buyers. For just $6 in advance or $10
at the gate, running motorcycles of any age may be sold in the corral.

RIDE TO THE IVMS FOR THE “SHOW WITHIN THE SHOW!”
For those riding to the IVMS on a motorcycle, these people will get
the premier parking spots, right at the swap meet entrance! Hundreds
of bikes are parked in the parking area each year, creating a
beautiful “Show Within the Show.” Spectators can often be found
walking through the rows of bikes to see many more modern and vintage
machines!

FEATURED EVENT-Annual IVMS Charity Ride for Paul’s Pantry
The annual charity ride, of which a portion of the proceeds in 2008
will go to help Paul’s Pantry, one of the local food pantries, is
sponsored by the Christian Motorcylist Association and the VJEMC, and
will leave the grounds for a 75-100 mile ride through scenic central
Wisconsin at 1PM on Saturday, August 16. There will be 2 refreshment
stops, and all riders will receive a free meal upon return from the
ride. Cost is $10 per rider, or $15 if riding 2-up with a partner.
Paul’s Pantry will also have food barrels to collect non-perishable
items at the event. Cash donations will also be accepted. Those
donating food or cash will receive free tickets for the IVMS raffle
drawing for dozens of great prizes!

This year, the VJEMC membership tent will be inside of the show
building, where members will have their bikes on display as well. This
is a great opportunity for vintage motorcycle enthusiasts to sign up
for a yearly VJEMC membership, which is now only $15. This membership
includes a year’s subscription to the online VJEMC Scrambler magazine,
which features tech tips, restoration ideas, vintage dealer
interviews, member features, auction and sale coverage, show coverage,

world’s largest price guide for vintage motorcycles, the Comprehensive
Vintage Motorcycle Price Guide, with thousands of values and

years old and older.

General admission per day is just $6, and children under 12
accompanied by a paid adult are free. Weekend passes are just $15.
