Subject: Re: [MotVinMoto] welding/machine shop/fabricating
I'm not a big fan of chrome. On my 750GT I removed a lot of it and went with
different finishes, but on my 160 Monza Jr some of the parts just seemed to be
screaming to be chromed so I tried St. Louis Plating Company, I think the contact
there was Buddy. I heard about them on the bevelheads list and gave it a shot,
told them I wasn't looking for "show" chrome. What I got back was WAY nicer than
the chrome the Italians did back in the '60s. but that's not saying much.

I was very happy with their work. Send them the parts, they contact you with an
estimate and then proceed. I can't remember the turnaround time but it wasn't bad
at all. Two weeks maybe? Price seemed decent too, understanding that chroming
isn't cheap. Suffice it to say I'm now not so anti-chrome and when I send in my
next round of parts I'm pretty sure I'll be including some of the things off the
750 GT that I de-chromed the first time around.
