Lotus XI Custard Climax

Interesting name to have painted on the bonnet of a Lotus XI. Does
anybody know anything about this car?

I do know that no record of this cars exsistance appears in HLR records
before a few years ago. Both the English and US Eleven Registrars have been
unable to establish any previous history prior to 2004.
The road registration is modern.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Victor. I looked at this car
upclose and it seemed to have quite a bit of patina. I am likely to
see it again this year and I'll try to have a chat with the owner. I
guess both registars already did that, I'm just wondering about what
his claims re: the car's history are.
