Hello to all in the group. Thanks Peter for all of your work, and to
all of the other contributers. I have started to restore my 11 and
will have a lot of questions. I have owned it since the late 60"s only
to find that it has been a huge battery for all of these years. There
is a lot more corrosion than I had imagined. It was originaly a dark
blue. Can anyone tell me the name, number or supplier of this color?
Also I have not been able to find a source for the brass nuts that
hold the windscreen to the aluminum tonneau? Thanks, please write if
you have any questions for me. Bob

The Brass screw and nuts as used in connecting windscreens were commonly
used for book binding work with the threaded shaft section available in a
variety of lengths to match the thickness of the paper to be bound - suggest
you try a library or someone in the book restoration game-otherwise if you
can not locate come back to me and I will track down where I got them from
in Australia many years ago (1998)when I restored my car.

On a visit to Pritchard's shop, in the 80s,  to order new front bodywork for my Eleven, I asked about those strange brass nuts and screws . . Pritchard searched around and found a few and gave them to me.  He informed me that these were very rare items, the last ones he had and there'd be no more.  A few days later, I proudly showed them to Victor Thomas and Victor said: "Wot?  They're bookkeeping ledger bolts and every office store has a bin full of them"!
