Hi all,
Ok, so there are enough people who want to play shinty for London (based wherever) that it would be a shame for the club to fold. But if we carry on in the same way as before we’ll probably get the same outcome. I’m sure everyone’s got views and maybe we need to change some things - or maybe not, I don’t know.
I agree then, it’d be good to meet up for a curry and see what everyone wants to do. It’d be nice to go out anyway…

Agreed, we need to meet up and discuss the future of the club.
The key thing we need is critical mass.
Firstly we need critisl mass for matches. We need enough players so we can enter cups and know we are going to be able to field a full team. Personally I don't think it matters if players are north or south of the border, so long as we have enough people up for a good match.
Secondly we need enough players for reasonable practices in London. We don't need many people for a productive practice. There is also an argument for not worrying about practices in London, so the club becomes solely a touring match side. But practices are an imporant element in team and skill building.
We have had some great times as a club and invested a lot into. It would be a real shame to see it go under. But it takes a committed core of players. I have been committed in the past and will be committed in the future if we have enough other committed people.
As a co-refounder of the club, ex vice captain and current captain of the side I've had great fun, met some great people and had some very amusing weekends in Scotland. We have also played some shinty, won a couple of trophies and occasionally beat the army!
We need critical mass.
Thoughts?
I suggest we meet for a curry night in the next month.

Office bearers : Are you letting the club die?
It would be good to keep things going - hard work sometimes I know, but we all know what's required and the responsibility which comes with the job.
Be good to at least register for some cup competitions for next season (and not miss that opportunity which we did this year). What's the deadline for entering?
It would be good to hear some more replies - what does everyone else thing about the future of the club?
