Update on Mac

Update on Mac: He saw his cancer doctor today plus received another dose of radiation, and also had a vascular ultrasound done on his arm. The update is somewhat mixed. The radiation appears to be easing his pain, and with the increased pain medicine, his pain levels are much more tolerated - GREAT news. He's regained some of his mobility in that arm - GREAT news. He is having some circulation issues in his arm - not so great news. They did the ultra sound, and while immediate surgery isn't necessary, it still MIGHT happen down the road once a vascular surgeon takes a look.

Also, his doctor is concerned that Mac would develop frozen shoulder, so once the circulation issue is explored that physical therapy will not add problems, he will start physical therapy. He is scheduled for CT scans next Monday. He also has at this point two options, both involving chemotherapy (something he was hoping to avoid). One option is two medicines, with another with antibodies. The second option is if he qualifies for a clinical trial for the chemo medicines along with immune therapy. The doctor says this second choice shows some promise.

We know this process takes time, but preparing for battle often takes longer than we would like it to take. God is showing His power and strength as we continue to wait as the scope of the battle is still being evaluated. Please pray for continued wisdom, strength and comfort as God leads Mac through this battle. Thank you for all the prayers!
