I sure miss Bill at Bill's Records and Tapes. There were so many wonderful musicians who performed there over the years.

I maintained the email list but haven't used it for many years.  I wanted to let you know about an event on Friday 8/29 with singer/songwriter Amy Speace performing at the fairly new coffeehouse-type  venue at the King of Glory Luthern Church on LBJ near Preston Rd.  Amy is a fine songwriter and a talented and engaging performer.  Opening is Andrey Delaney, though quirky, he is also a fine songwriter and performer.  I hope you will go.  I'll be in the audience so you can say "thanks" (or whatever your reaction is!) for my recommendation.

$20 bucks, doors at 7:00 pm

P.S.: Ask Andrew to perform his "Bubbles The Clown" song.  It's a wonderfully crafted song.  He often refuses, so you may need to beg.

Amy Speace is an award-winning Nashville-based singer/songwriter known for her raw emotion, poetic lyrics, and captivating stage presence. Discovered by folk icon Judy Collins in 2005, Amy was one of the first artists signed to Collins' record label and went on to tour as her opening act. With a sound rooted in Americana and a voice full of passion and depth, Amy brings a moving blend of honesty, strength, and vulnerability to every performance.

Arlington’s own Andrew Delaney kicks off the evening with his uniquely theatrical and introspective songwriting. Known for his offbeat humor and poignant storytelling, Andrew draws inspiration from the literary grit of Tom Waits and James McMurtry, mixed with the audacious flair of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. His latest album, Animals! On The Moon!, explores the quirky journey of finding contentment in love and family.
