If you really want to be sure you're talking about the same binary,
you need to compare MD5 hashes, or some other reasonably strong CRC.
Just comparing sizes and date/time stamps is not particularly useful
since individual bits may have been flipped in transmission but
without otherwise modifying any of the meta-data.
