[Hx4700-port] About starterkits

Hi everybody,
I would like to make some questions regarding mainly sdgsystems starterkit.
I use opie starterkit with kernel 2.6.11-hh2, and I boot via HaRET.
Although this starterkit worked almost perfect and I managed to boot with
Linux immediately, I met some problems when I tried to compile my own
kernel.
More specifically, I downloaded a tarball from cvs, tried to compile it but
I couldn't boot. After many efforts, I now have a kernel that boots and
works, but there are still differences between my kernel and sdgsystem's
kernel (for example my bluetooth driver doesn't work).
My question is if it is possible to have a source tarball from the kernel's
zImage that is used in this starterkit.
Also, I am a little bit of stacked with 2.6.11-hh2 kernel because I cannot
produce a working initrd file with updated modules for another kernel (I
think that this is the problem). I found several instructions but nothing
seems to work. I have no write access to this file in order to mount it and
just change these files, but I have to build it from scratch. Any help with
this, would also be very helpful.
I am quite new in these topics, so I apologize if my questions are too
obvious.
