Dear All,

I have a Ubuntu, RHEL 3 and win98 machine in my organisation.

HP DJ 810C is installed on Win98 machine. The printer is shared and is printable from RHEL machine and was printeable from Ubuntu machine also.

One day as the user was printing from the ubuntu machine, two pages got printed and the printing stopped. I can still print from the RHEL machine as well as from the Win98 Machine. But the ubuntu machine doesnot connect to the printer.

I ran smbtree on both the RHEL and Ubuntu machines and found a error in Ubuntu when connecting to the Win98 Machine..
=============
        \\RAKHI                         Designers
timeout connecting to 66.197.170.229:445
timeout connecting to 66.197.170.229:139
Error connecting to 66.197.170.229 (Operation already in progress)
cli_full_connection: failed to connect to RAKHI<20> (66.197.170.229)
================

The funniest part is that the machine RAKHI has the IP 10.2.1.188 and not 66.197.170.229
Our organisation is using the 10.2.1.0/255.255.255.0 range of addresses.

The user who is using the Ubuntu machine is too lay to make any changes as she finds using even Windows tough. So I can rule out her making any changes.

I have tried uninstalling cupsys and reinstalling it on the ubuntu machine.. Still nothing..

Can anyone suggest anything more?

regards,
Sam

Test your applications on Wine... ITs an API that allows running Windows programs in Linux. I have tried using some applications and it works comparatively well..
