Can I install Gentoo 2005.0 with my ATI 9550?

I've got an ATI 9550(oc 9600),AND I have try to install
fc2,debian,freeBSD onto my machine,but it's always seem that something
wrong with my video card.Some one tells me linux has a week support for
ATI(but my sister's ati9200 works well?)
REALLY?or there is something else I can do?

I got fed up with ATI and switched to NVidia. Then it worked**
beautifully. (**long story) I also have always heard that Linux doesn't
support ATI cards very well. Yeah, this isn't much help. :-P sorry man.
Just stick to the gentoo guides. They're probably some of the best
guides out there, in my opinion.
