You may have heard that the pro-life democrats led by Bart Stupak have agreed to vote for the health care bill because President Obama promised to sign an executive order to take abortion funding out of the bill. For many, this will look like a pro-life victory. It isn't.
First, it's only a promise...and Obama publicly promised a couple of months ago before a joint session of congress on national television that abortion funding would not be in the bill. It is in the bill or there would be no need for Obama to make the promise he's making now. Obviously, promise broken (never intended to be kept, actually).
Second, an executive order can be executed or rescinded at the whim of the president. No legislative action is required. As easily as the president is promising to sign an executive order, it can just as easily be rescinded. And given President Obama's staggering devotion to the abortion agenda which you can see here, there is no reason to think that he will keep his promise or not rescind the order soon after.
Third, an executive order cannot trump federal law, and tax-payer abortion funding WILL BE FEDERAL LAW when this bill gets signed.
Obama knows this!!
While we in Guam have no voting representative in Congress we can pray and fast today for this cause. We can also at least make our thoughts known to our non-voting representative Madeline Z. Bordallo. Her website and contact information is here. We can at least let her know that we hold her personally responsible for the passage of this bill because she supported the party line over the pro-life issue.
This is going to make many of you uncomfortable. But if you need a reminder of what the bill will actually look like, if you need to know what an abortion looks like, what a dismembered fully formed child looks like, go here. Or if you have the stomach for it and you need to see the actual act of a child being torn apart in its mother's womb, watch it here.

Tension is high here in the buildup to tonight's vote. As I write I can hear protestors outside. You may have heard the news reports that some pro-life Members of Congress are being offered a “deal” from the White House on health care reform legislation. That is true. In exchange for a “yes” vote on this bill, President Obama promises to issue an executive order that he claims will address our concerns about taxpayer funding for abortion.
Let me be clear, this will not prevent taxpayer-funded abortion.
