Given some of the issues that have come to light concerning the camp site and accommodation at LTSC,
I as a member would like to offer some recommendation regarding the dreadful conditions the fine members who chose to camp at LTSC and have been willing to tolerate and endure!
First, I propose we temporarily close the entire campground area and request the current camping sportsman to move there units and any attached structures off club property so as to allow for redesign, modification and upgrade of current lots.
To start with I propose the club consider doubling the size of each lot which would mean we would then have half the number of lots. With only half the number of camping spots/lots I realize this may cause some concern for some members but do not be alarmed this should not pose any problem, as one member stated at an earlier meeting; "The campers are not meant to be a revenue generator for the non-profit club!"
Furthermore, I propose the club consider upgrading the power system if need be but perhaps halving the number of lots will help with that issue? And correct the water system to be fairly competitive with other campsites.
Last but not least I propose the club adjust the annual camping fee to reflect these improvements. The club should realize at the very least $1200 yr. to start and with proper promotion/advertisement for a few month or more, then welcome sportsman campers back onto improved lots first come first serve with money in hand.
Our campsites have a lot to offer and the value as such should not be overlooked.
For example:
A comprehensive shooting range within a few steps.
Walk across the street and fish for trout.
Drive a couple miles over to Sayers dam for fishing, boating, hiking and picnicking.
Good hunting within walking distance or a short drive.
Go to a Pennstate football game 15-20miles up the road.
I could go on but I think everyone gets the picture. The unique situation our club offers is plane to see and we should maximize the potential of our assets to further the shooting, hunting, and fishing sports as our club charter intended.
Thanks for your consideration,
