I am a renter at Liberty Township Sportsman Club, I am not a widow
nor an orphan and i do not cry alligator tears, however what I do is
pay my rent on time every year. This is not the only campground that
our family has rented in over the years. Camping is what we like to
do. We would consider our selves Sportsman, we fish in the summer,
hunt in the fall. Although we do not use the shooting ranges.

I do want to explain a few facts concerning the camp rates here as i
see it, so dont reply mean things about me, I dont deserve it.

The lot size is a big factor when deciding on rent. All other
campground rates quoted on in the minutes and in the audit report were
from manicured campgrounds offering bigger lot size compared to
LTSC. Just drive through LTSC and notice how close together the
campers are. Now drive down the road to the state park or any other
campground and look at the space between the sites. When looking at
LTSC ask yourself how the hell did they get that camper in there.
this isnt a user friendly campground, it is a turn off for people who
cant manuver trailers.

Water is an huge issue here. You can not drink the water. Some days
you dont want to bath in it either. It is yellow and reeks of
bleach. Dumping gallons of bleach down the well is how they treat
the water here. You have to carry water from home to cook with and to
drink. Now lets discuss out hot water tanks and our sinks and
toilets..... If we dont flush out our hot water tanks to get the
sludge out of the bottoms of them, we will most certainly be
replacing them because they will quit working. our sinks and toilets
we have to soak in hot soapy water overnight to get rid of the yellow
stains.

Electric is another issue. Dont expect to make coffee and use your
toaster at the same time while your furnace blower is running. it
will kick the braker outside on the pole every time. We came up here
for a long weekend this year when the temp's were over 100, my
neighbor was already here with their air conditioner on when we got
here, we tried to turn on our air conditioner to cool our camper
down, guess what, we didnt have enough power to run ours because
theirs was on... when their furnace or air kicks on it dims our
lights.

We talked to a rv dealer about this, he said most newer campers
require an 30 amp service, some 50 amp service, we do not have this
here. and he warned us that using our appliances with out proper
apm's could cause our appliances to overheat and cause fire. that
explains why our adaptor plug last year melted and we lost out
electric.

Now lets talk potholes and flooded campsites when it rains for a few
days. in the spring we needed a dingy to get to our porch. although
the neighbors 50 ducks enjoyed swimming in our lake front property.
all we had when the water subsided was a muddy stinky mess. dont get
me wrong watching the ducks was kinda cool for the first 5 minutes,
but they are like little quacking pigs.... "stinky"

you see as with anything in life you get what you pay for. Perhaps
Liberty Township Sportsman Club might be "the cheapest place around"
as somebody as quoted, but with out proper electric and water or
sewage to the campsites, it does not warrant a huge rate hike.
nobody that camp here would mind paying more if we were getting
something for the increase.

as i watch all the for sale signs go up, and fellow campers perpare
to leave for good, it saddens me, this all could of been avoided.
maybe if the members who camp here were not treated like squatters,
and their opinions counted for something "being we are members also"
a compromise could of been reached.

i like some of the members who camp here, will wait for the new
contracts to be signed and see what the rates are, if i think it is
too high for current conditions here, i along with my family (4 other
camping members) will be leaving too...
