Format & Content of Discussion:
Format:
A). Hour One: Each Panelist will give a brief 10-15 min introduction about themselves and their work to challenge U.S. policies of militarization in the Americas, and their how their faith perspectives fuel their organizing. They will examine the importance of organizing in faith communities, the challenges, and offer "lessons learned."
B). Hour Two: Dialogue between the audience and the panelists. During this time, guided by a general outline, audience members will be able to ask panelists questions, and vice versa-- questions that will foster a rich discussion about faith based action in the movement.

Content:
To discuss the personal motivations of faith behind the panelist's work to participate in the anti-militarization movement, as well as how they have drawn upon faith to engage communities to fight against US militarization and aggression in the Americas. Our intentions with this discussion are to shed light on the important role that faith-based action has played in SOA Watch and the larger anti-militarization movement.

Sample Questions:
What aspects of this type of organizing are particularly effective? What have been the
challenges in faith-based organizing?
