A month ago I got this cool email, but haven't been able to do much with it yet. I offered to talk about this at UUASC OC over a google hangout, but got sick that morning, had urgent work and a smog check hanging over me as well. I finally had a light week at work, thinking of doing the Hello world example
https://developers.google.com/compute/docs/hello_world in a google Hangout, maybe just getting together with you'll before booking a flight, hmmm $102 oneway to LAX,or $617.56 RT with Hilton stay for
SCALE11x, who knows I might even give my cloud talk on more time, but I usually decide to do that last minute.
Anyhow I will try to setup a google hangout like I practiced for UUASC OC. I haven't got a clue how to schedule a hangout, but I will try to do this in 2 hours.

Google is pleased to welcome you to the Google Compute Engine Limited Preview.
Google Compute is a service that provides virtual machines that run on Google infrastructure. Google Compute provides both a command-line tool called gcutil and a REST API that enable you to configure, deploy, and manage multiple virtual machines in multiple data centers. These virtual machines can be used as distributed computing power on their own, or in conjunction with other services such as Google App Engine.
To activate the service you will need to click the following URL and register your project ID. Please be sure to sign in using the e-mail address that you provided. This activation URL is valid for 10 days.
Note: Your Google Compute Engine project will have a default quota of 8 instances, 8 CPUs, 8 ephemeral IP addresses, 8 persistent disks, and 100GB of persistent disk space.
Note: Your e-mail address will automatically be added to our operations list which is used for maintenance notifications (gce-ope...@googlegroups.com). We strongly suggest signing up for our announce and discussion lists (gce-an...@googlegroups.com, gce-dis...@googlegroups.com) via these links:

Accessing Documentation
We have put together some documentation that should help you get up and running on the Google Compute Service.
gcutil, the Google Compute Engine command-line tool
The easiest way to use Google Compute Engine is to install and run our Python-based command-line tool, gcutil. Click on the final link in the above list and follow the installation instructions for the tool.
Once gcutil is installed, some basic commands are listed below. Please see the gcutil usage tips in our docs for a complete list of available options.
The basic syntax looks like this:
$ gcutil --project_id=<projectid> <command> [--command_flags] [args]
To get help on commands:
$ gcutil help
To get help on global flags:
$ gcutil --help
To get help on a specific command:
$ gcutil help <command>
Support
We are very interested in getting insight into your experiences with the Google Compute product and would be happy to help you work through any issues you may encounter. We have created an email distribution list for you to share your experiences and ask for help if you encounter issues: gc-...@google.com
Thanks, and happy computing!
