Hey Ralfie, would you mind posting this for me in the LILAX group? Or UUASC too? Err.. or how should I do it myself even? I'm helping a friend with this in case you might know anyone interested. Glendale on Brand Blvd, $75-$80salary, full-time. 


System and Network Engineer

                                                            

 

The System and Network Engineer creates and maintains solutions for mobile data access, cloud based photo services and data storage.

 

Position Responsibilities

- Linux and Windows system setup, maintenance, configuration, provisioning, revision, update

- Software installation and configuration

- Server monitoring and statistics

- Network and security setting and monitoring

- Backups

 

Position Requirements:

- BA/BS Degree in related field or equivalent work experience

- 5+ years of Linux system administration, including excellent scripting skills (bash, Python, Perl, etc.)

- 2+ years of Windows system administration

- 2+ years of network administration

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strongly Desired:

- Experience with the cloud and in particular AWS (Amazon Web Services), including EC2, S3, Cloudfront (or Akamai), Rightscale, etc

- Experience with VMWare VCenter and/or Hypervisor, Xen

- Excellent understanding of security concepts and technologies, including firewalls, proxy servers, file server settings, monitoring

- Expert knowledge of scalability and availability, such as load balancing, DNS round-robin, failover, cluster farms

Bonus Skills:

- Installation, configuration and maintenance of the LAMP stack, in particular the Apache HTTPD server (or NGinx) and MySQL 5 (or PostgreSQL), plus NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Membase, Cassandra, etc.)

- Installation and configuration of configuration management servers and related, such as VSTS, SVN, Git, Jira, Confluence, mail servers, groupware servers

- Experience with windows client mass rollout

- Experience with Pound, GlusterFS
