So some people have said they can not find the serial number on the
LegacyCd.
So here is a quick walk thru.
Check under the EXTRAS folder.
In there you will find another folder called LegacyCdHTML.
This is the folder with the file called serial.txt
Also in this folder is all of the HTML for the LegacyDb which is the
soon to be online database for the LegacyCd.

Let us know which version you have if you want.
Also you will find a survey in there as well.
You can send surveys to me Rich Shumaker.

Have a great day everyone.

Thanks for this post, it really helped me find that tricky little
number

The Serial number I have is
051105Shereplayday05
Ver 1.0 05052005

I have already given out 2 copies along with my own version of a Legacy
Ball. It is a copy of my own ball which was a tennis ball wrapped in
eletrical tape filled with kitty litter.

I am talking to a customer of mine from work who I gave a CD to and a
ball, about "teaching" her girl scout troup. They all will make their
own ball. I have a contact that can give me tennis balls, and I have
litter and a CD burner so I have offered to give them all the stuff for
free.

I figured if I can get the word out GO ME..even if I am still just a
novice myself.

I found the Legacy CD to be VERY helpful to me. I have Sphere Play DVD
but it just didn't touch the same base as the LEgacy CD did.

I figured to pass on the Legacy..I added my own note to the Serial
Number note on the DVD saying Who I was and how I got the CD. I am
going to put a note on all the CDs saying to look at the number and add
their own note before passing it on..to help keep the legacy alive.

PLAY ON!

EEK.
I am not sure how you added a note but I didn't want the LegacyCd
modified. I understand the note. In fact I like it. My only concern
is that the information is somehow modified changed or deleted by
accident on the LegacyCd.
The LegacyCd is a weird disc. It is a HybridVCD. A VCD that also has
HTML content and a bunch of other stuff. That is why I tell people to
make exact copies of the disc. This way I can make sure nothing is
lost.
The serial number is there so people know where the original came from.
I understand adding a note and what not. In fact I like the idea BUT I
don't know of an easy way to do that without potentially losing the
information or adding something undesired.
Please don't take this the wrong way I am happy you added a note. I
like the idea. BUT I can not tell people to do that in fact I must
tell people PLEASE DON'T DO THAT. I don't want people making "changes"
they feel make sense. The serial number is only to allow a trace back
to the source.
As far as it being different than SpherePlay Art of the Sphere that is
true. I have been working on this long before that DVD came out and I
had more time after it was out. Also I was trying to give as much
information for someone to start on the path.

EMail me directly so we might be able to find a way that everyone can
add a note to the LegacyCd as they pass it on.

Wow I feel weird now.
So I will let this Rick guy call the shots.
By the way are you being serious?
Cuz this is really weird.
I was just sayin' I don't like the changin' of the LegacyCd as it is
clearly pointed out.
"You can make exact copies of the disc only"
I think Rick would agree.

Too Surreal for me.

I haven't made a copy of the disk since adding my note to the serial
number folder on the cd, so I will erase it before I make another copy.
I admit I am no computer wiz, and the whole VCD.DVD thing is new to me.
I have no idea how ya made it or anything so I can understand you beign
worried about things being added or taken out.

If you do think of a way to add to it without harm, let us know.

No Problems.
It was just a bit surreal.
My tag line is "The Other Contact Juggler" as I am always mistaken for
someone else.
So when you did it I understood. And thank you for sticking up for me.
Even though it was against me it still made me feel good.

My original idea is that the LegacyDb which will be online soon would
hold the lineage of a LegacyCd or Legacy Ball.
So since the ball can not be duplicated it would be one person at a
time.
Since the LegacyCd could be duplicated you would check the serial
number. Then check the web site and see where your came from.
Unfortunately there is no snazzi log in and such with the current
LegacyDb so i will need to keep track.

SO
I included a survey on every LegacyCd. If you take that and email it
to me I will keep records of it.
Also I will update the Website.
IN THE FUTURE
I would love it if people could "register" there LegacyCd. By register
I mean go to a web site say who gave it to them. Or where they got it.
Then trace back the serial number to the originator. NOT ME. I made
it then gave it away. You guys and gals are the people helping to seed
it around the world.

I currently have about 12 different serials.
Different events
Different people
Different thingios

SO
Check those serials. Some are bland some are less bland.
Oh and that is the only thing that ever changes or has changed on the
LegacyCd.
In time the only other thing I plan on updating is the LegacyDb.

On every LegacyCd is an HTML version of the current DB as well as a SQL
back up. Along with the software so you can recreate it yourself.

Wolf Thanks for not distributing the version with the note. Like I
said I would love to allow a note but then I would be opening people up
to Hacks and Mods cuz if you can change one thing then you could change
the whole thing.

The serial number is not a change it is a marker like the AOL discs so
they can tell where you picked them up.

AND YES
Some of this non-sense came from a weird collection of AOL discs I
have.

IF YOU EVER GET A CHANCE
Try to pick up the AOL cases, the metal ones or other ones.
THEN
LegacyCd them.
Oh and I guess I should say I don't "Officially" encourage this. But
then again I just wrote it and that is pretty "official"

I also like the Leave on stuff distribution.
Put a cool note on the CD like
"FUN TO WATCH"
Then leave it places.

You could also give it away to your local library. Or Video Store. I
did say no selling but I guess they could rent it?

Anyway I need some sleep. Thanks again Chris for sticking up for me
even though it was a bit surreal. I look forward to meeting more of
you. And Wolf Next time we meet at least tell me you have a Legacy
Ball. It is so rarely I get to meet people face to face and not on
this faceless machine.

Rich

Well I would love to tell you I have a Legacy Ball but I do not. I have
my own version of a Legacy Ball. It is my ball that I used to learn
with before I ever heard of Legacy Project, so in my world it is a
Legacy Ball because it is how I learned and I am passing that down to
someone eles. My brother is getting my original one(a laqross ball) and
my coworker got my tennis filled ball(my 2nd legacy ball of sorts)

So when I am teaching the gals I will have them all make their own,
and tel them to pass it on if they want..because that is their own
"Legacy ball" The CD is your Legacy and I will help pass that on..and
if I happen to have a couple of balls that I have made then I will give
that out too...though it isn't an officaial RS Legacy Ball. I juts know
that when I first started I wanted a ball right away and didn't have
one.

I will have to try and Legacy CD that AOL disk....cheaper that way LOL

Ok off I go to make some copies and figure out cool catch phrases for
them

I always have wanted people to make their own Legacy Balls.
So that makes me smile.

Thx for keeping the project going.
