Wednesday night dancing at the Boston Harbor Hotel with the White
Heat Swing Orchestra starts this coming Wednesday the 14th. Dances will
then be every Wednesday through August 30.

There's some info on the hotel's website at
http://www.bhh.com/swing_wednesdays.cfm. And if you click "About BHH"
at the top of that page, you'll reach another page with a link for
directions to the hotel. It looks like it would cost $18 to park at the
hotel itself (according to the hotel's website). I don't know about
other parking options or about public transportation. Anyone?

There's also a little bit of information on White Heat's website at
http://www.havetodance.com/whiteheat/. They say the dances are on the
waterfront patio at the hotel from 6 to 10 p.m., that they're open to
the public with no admission charge and that dining is available on the
patio.

I hope to make it at some point. However, I work in Metro West and
usually don't leave work till 7, so we'll see.... But happy dancing to
anyone who goes! Please post and tell the group about it.

I'm planning on going and meeting a friend there. We'd love it if some
swing dance partners showed up.

How will we identify each other as potential dance partners?

Hi. My name is Beth. I met Jim at a Velvet Elvis show at Tequila's a few months back. I think that he noticed I was sitting alone & tapping my foot & asked me if I'd like to dance. I explained that I was a beginner - and he patiently "took his game down a notch" and taught me some moves. It was a lot of fun. So - he signed me up for this group & I could try & meet other people that are learning to dance. A few weeks ago, I (again) went to see Velvet Elvis in Leominster - and was lucky enough to be asked to dance by someone who was really accomplished and willing to spend the time with me to get me more up to speed.

I'm going to meet him down at the Harbor Hotel this Wednesday. And I'm sure all the ladies that will be attending will enjoy dancing with him (Peter Baldwin) if they haven't already. I wish I could say that we could be easily identified. Maybe everyone should do something like tie a yellow ribbon around their pocketbook (or - for the guys - look for the yellow ribbon). I would really like the opportunity to finally meet some of you since I've been just "lurking" on this group for too long now.
