Hi All,

If you're a fan of vocal harmony combined with swing music like I am
(think Manhattan Transfer), it looks like Swing City is the place to be
this Friday. The Beantown Swing Orchestra will be playing, but with a
special guest. Here's what's on SC's website (www.wannadance.com):

"The Beantown Swing Orchestra was formed to play exclusively for
dancers, using the classic arrangements of the 1930s and 1940s. Its 14
horns, 3 harmonized vocalists, and acoustic-based rhythm section
demonstrate the amazing power of the music during Swing's heyday. With
members coming from Italy, Greece, Argentina, Japan, and Sweden, as
well as the US, the band presents a unique cross-cultural
interpretation of this truly American art form. This performance will
feature special guest David Thorne Scott (of the vocal group
'Syncopation') and members of his Berklee Historical Vocal Jazz
Ensemble singing classic Glenn Miller arrangements such as 'Chattanooga
Choo-Choo' and 'Kalamazoo.' At times there will be as many as six
vocalists on stage singing harmony. You won't want to miss this one!"

See you there!

Mike
