Just wondering if anyone made it to the 'Summer Swing' at Boston Harbor Hotel, this past Wednesday, with the White Heat Orchestra.  How was it? (or did it get rained out?).  Did it attract a big crowd? 

 

I'd like to go withing the next week or two, if the weather stays nice.

   Dance2Swing Studios' monthly Saturday-night dance is this Saturday,
June 17, in Worcester, with music by The Love Dogs. I attended the
Worcester dance in April and found it to be a fun dance attended by
nice people, so I'm planning on attending again this month. There's a
lesson at 7:30, then the dancing starts at 8:30. The cost is $10.

   The dance is held at the First Unitarian Church, 90 Main St.,
Worcester (between State St. and Court St.). Here's the link to the
page on the church's website that has a map, directions and information
about parking: http://www.firstunitarian.com/map.html.

   NB: The map is incorrect. (It's close, but what good is that...?)
Click the "+" on the map a couple of times to zoom in as much as
possible, then click the up arrow to reposition the map. You'll see
State St. and, above it, another street labeled "Driveway." However,
Driveway is actually Court St.! (You can see this if you get a map for
90 Main St. using Mapquest.) Neither the church's map nor Mapquest
places 90 Main between State and Court. But that's where it is! If you
turn onto State from Main, the church's parking lot and the entrance to
the dance are on your right.

Hi. I had emailed the group last week (about being new, etc) - and I never did end up going last Wed (because of the rain). I guess the guy I was supposed to meet went anyways & said it was great ... although not a ton of dancers showed up. He plans on going this Wed (as do I). We'll be at Velvet Elvis tonite at the Sit-N-Bull in Maynard. Not the best dance floor (we're hoping to convince them to move the tables) - but it's a good band to dance to & a fun show to watch.
