1st Annual Event Aims to Bring Blues Back to the South Shore
Quincy, MA- Blues legend Luther Guitar Jr." Johnson will headline the 1st Annual Blues on the Bay Yard Rock Style Blues Festival on Saturday, August 12, 2006 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at WaterWorks Nightclub in Marina Bay, Quincy, MA.
[Blues on the Bay] is an opportunity to bring blues back to the South Shore, said Joe Hajjar, the festivals creator, We are thankful for the opportunity to show why the camaraderie, the spirit and the music are the reasons we are all trying to keep the blues alive.
Beginning his career in the 1950s as part of Muddy Water, Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson has worked with the likes of Ray Scott, Tall Milton Shelton and Magic Sam, along with many other time-honored blues legends. Since going out on his own in the 1980s, he has released numerous critically acclaimed albums and is considered one of the backbones of the Chicago Blues scene.
