Tha sinn 'n dòchas gum bi sibh còmhla ruinn air a' chiad oidhche den phrògram ùr de Cheòl 's Craic am bliadhna, oidhche a tha air a cur ar dòigh le taic bho Cholmcille. Bidh sàr-oidhche againn, le roghainn de thàlant traidiseanta is co-aimsireil, à Alba is Èirinn. Bidh cothrom ann don luchd èisteachd pàirt a ghabhail san fhèisteas air an oidhche.

We hope you'll come along and enjoy this amazing line up of cultural and musical talent, this is a night that is sure to be enjoyed by all. A musical event with a traditional Irish and Gaelic ceilidh atmosphere and an oppertunity for the audience to take part in an open mic session to add to the outstanding performances of the evening.

A' mhìos seo - Eirinn 's Alba

Christine Primsose
christine primrose

Christine Primrose is a native Gaelic speaker, and internationally renowned traditional singer. We are extremely happy to have her join our line-up for this years launch of Ceòl 's Craic 2007.

Tha Cairistiona Primrose na seinneadair Gàidhlig ainmeil, aig a bheil cliù fad 's farsaing. Tha sinn air leth toilichte gum bi i còmhla ruinn aig toiseach prògram ùr Ceòl 's Craic 2007.

Gearoidin Bhreathnach
Gearóidín Bhreathnach

Gearóidín Bhreathnach, winner of Corn Uí Riada, the première award for Irish Sean- nós will also be appearing at the CCA on Friday the 17th November.

Bhuannaich Gearoidín Bhreathnach Corn Uì Riada, duais ainmeil airson seann nòs ann an Èireann.

Maeve MacKinnon

A graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Maeve is one of Scotland's premiere rising stars on the music scene. Her Album, 'Don't song Love songs' has been highly acclaimed and chosen as a 'Classic Album of 2008' by Celtic Connections. We are happy to announce Maeve and her band will be joining in the evening's entertainment throughout this evening of Scottish and Irish Tradition.

Cheumnaich Meabh às an RSAMD. Tha an ìomhaigh aice a sìor fhàs ann an saoghal ceòl na Gàidhlig.

Gearoid Mac Lochlainn

To add a little bit of spice to the evening we also have Gearóid Mac Lochlainn. Gearóid is a performance poet from Belfast who has brought new audiences for Gaelic poetry. In his poetry, the urban Irish of West Belfast mixes energetically and rhythmically with Belfast English and Jamaican reggae.

Gus barrachd a chur ris an oidhche, tha Gearoid Mac Lochlainn gus a bhi againn. 'S e sràid-bhàrd à Beul Feirste a tha ann.
