بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The following audio has been digitally remastered from a lecture delivered on the day of Jumu'ah on the subject of the khutbah by Dr. Murtaza bin Baksh (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).  Within it, you will find many amazing examples of many people including the Sahabah, highlighting the moments that took places as death approached them.

He then goes on to give some examples of situations that he had personally witnessed with his own eyes during his working career as a medical doctor whilst witnessing emergency/accident cases.  Here we will mention just a few of them.

1 - A man who is faintly heard uttering the Shahadah even though all his body parts had almost completely stopped functioning.

2 - A righteous woman, obedient to her husband not ever raising her voice to him (as attested to by husband).  She was so conscious of her covering/hijab… Her husband regarded her death as a huge calamity and a test for him. How was her death?  How were her last moments?

3 - A man who was not prepared to meet his mother who had travelled all the way from Pakistan to Jeddah having heard that he had recently got remarried to a second wife without informing her of this.  His mother struggles in the heat of Jeddah with the hope that she would meet her son.  Some of his friends took pity on her and gave her a place to stay.   She went to Makkah, performed Umrah and returned back to Pakistan with a broken heart, having not been able to see her son. How was his death?  How were his last moments?

4 - A 20-year-old lady who was on the verge of getting married.  To the point, that her wedding invitation cards had been distributed to the invited guests.  Preparing for this monumental stage in her life.  Her mother has a stroke.  She contemplated over the fact of who would look after her mother.  She (the daughter) cancelled her impending marriage even with the insistence of her family members. Instead, choosing to dedicate her life to serving her mother up until a time that she hoped her mother's health would be restored.

During this period of taking care of the needs of her mother, she had two younger sisters who both got married whilst she continued taking care of her sick mother.

For 15 years she continued being dutiful to the needs of her sick mother taking care of all her needs. When nearing death her mother raises her index fingers to the sky and said: "O Allaah, bear witness that I am pleased with my daughter."

Her mother passes away. What happened next in the life of this daughter who dedicated her youth to the care and wellbeing of needs of her mother?

To find out the answers to these questions.  Listen to the lecture with your family members.  You will find in it much benefit.

This Deen is Sincere Advice

It was said to the Imām ‘Abdullāh b. Mubārak:

“Has there remained anyone who still offers advice?”

He responded:

“Do you know anyone who accepts it?!”
