Hi
All
(Sorry if some of you get this message twice)
We are holding a brief
discussion session/working bee this Sunday from 11am to noon at the bottom
of the track leading down from Glade Place to Valley
Road.
The proposed plan is
to:
- find the native trees that the LeRoys and LSB
group has planted in the past in the area of kikuyu at the bottom of the
track
- mark them with stakes (I will bring along
some stout 1.5 metre stakes - if anyone has a little sledge hammer
please bring this along)
- discuss a plan
for managing the area to propose to council for next
year
- clear the kikuyu and other exotics from the
trees (as much as time permits)
Helen Renwick will drop a brief notice in
letterboxes in Glade and Learmonth, inviting the neighbours to come and look at
the spot where we are
suggesting a grassy area be formed, and to bring their own tools if they want to
join in.
If you are busy
and can't make it, please email us your ideas.
Regards,
Keith
PS if you didnt get a copy
of the minutes of the last meeting and would like one, let me know and I will
send you one.

Subject: Glade Place - stakes for Sunday
Hi Helen and
Terry
The auction closed
before I could bid, but I have discovered that the vendor is the Timber
Recycling Co at 201A Archers Rd Glenfield.
I will try to ring
them and order some stakes to be delivered to my place by the
weekend.
There is a choice of 1.5m long x 40mm2
and 1.8m long x 20mm2 - I think for our purposes I would go for the more
robust - please let me know if you think
otherwise.
I realise we
didnt talk about what people should bring - I assume that if people brought
gloves and secateurs/shears to help clear round the trees we find and hammers to
knock the stakes in that should do it?
Look forward
to seeing you at the bottom of Glade Place at 11am.
Cheers,
Keith
