Hi all
Here is a photo to
celebrate the good work we have done in the gully at the Glade Place entrance to
LeRoys Bush.
Despite the setback
with the slip at the head of the gully, during the first half of the year, the
working bees have made great progress with the gully looking more like a bush
reserve and less like a rubbish tip.
We have made a
big clearance of noxious weeds - with the most spectacular successes being
around the big totara - just where the footpath down across to Valley Road
starts.
The first photo
shows the gully looking up past the big totara.
The second photo
shows the new rocks that have been dropped by council at the head of the gully -
just below the stormwater drain outlets. It looks pretty rough at present, but in
due course some natives around the fringes and carex between the rocks should
improve its appearance and help suppress invasive weeds.
Thanks to all who
have helped with weeding and planting. Looking forward to seeing you
again.
Regards,
Keith
