How to get PACER.gov federal court documents FREE with RECAP

Go to https://pacer.gov, open an account and supply a credit card info, then search for the name in federal court cases.  There you will see a way to access the docket report for the case in question, and you can download any documents you like at 10 cents per page.

HOWEVER, I recommend that you first install the RECAP (PACER backwards) extension in your browser (e.g., https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/recap) because RECAP will copy anything you get from PACER into the RECAP archive so that people who search PACER for that doc after you will get it free from the RECAP archive instead of having to pay for it.

An acquaintance was jailed 5 months with no court or judge or evidence for alleged threat made to a city council member.
