We are starting the Farmers Market Season this weekend-May 28th.  We’ll be at the Idaho Falls Farmers Market (Key Bank Parking lot) and Cache Valley Gardeners Market in Logan on Saturday.  Both of these markets are 9 to 1 pm.

We’ll be back in Logan on June 4th, and back in Idaho Falls on June 11th.

·       We have a good supply of most every cut of lamb and beef, with the exception of marrow bones.  Pre-orders are encouraged but not required.

·       We have a lots of sausage to choose from.  Our current flavors include beef andouille, bratwurst, frankfurter, polish and sweet Italian.  Lamb flavors include lamb and apple, garlic and rosemary, merguez and Italian lamb with sun dried tomato.

The last 5 or 6 weeks have been quite busy.  All but a couple of the ewes have now lambed, most lambs came in the first 21 days.  We are still waiting on 10 of the cows to get their calves on the ground.  The ewes gave us many sets of twins and triplets and we even had two sets of twins in the cattle.  We have one full time bottle calf and one full time bottle lamb, and a handful of twins and triplets that are being supplemented with formula while living with their mom.  We’ve got all the animals out on pasture, which has made them VERY happy.  John got Mrs. P’s grain planted, and some of our pasture but has another field of alfalfa to plant when it dries out long enough. We got the ewes and lambs vaccinated last night, but have about 2/3 of the ewes feet still to trim.  Nancy wants to bring her cattle to the meadow farm early next week, so all the fences have to be checked and the solar water system activated.  As soon as the current rain storm ends Becca and I need to go give the sheep and meat steers fresh pasture by moving their electric fence.  We started them on an area that was getting quite a bit of cheat grass in hopes that they’d graze the weed while getting the alfalfa and grasses, since the seed heads are immature.

Last week Becca graduated from 8th grade and was installed as her bethel’s honored queen on Saturday.  Tom is taking his finals this week, and considering taking an online class this summer so he can have more flexibility in his next couple of years of schooling.  Tom and Becca had their first student council meeting in their new positions today.  Becca has started softball practice, and is about to start HS cheer practice.  Tom is trying to squeeze weight lifting into his schedule in anticipation of being on the football team again in August.

I have 3 nights of meetings this week, and Tom’s FFA “banquet”.  I hope to catch up on all the emails I’ve been neglecting this week.  At least I soon won’t be competing with the kids homework for computer time J

Many thanks for your business,
