Esperanto is used in every country of the EU. Its number of speakers may be limited, but the effectiveness of communication between said users is plain to any observer. Factor in the greatly reduced time of study required to reach a good level of fluency when compared to English, French or what have you, and you have a phenomenon that at least merits a second look.
