Construction started yesterday morning for the NE 130th St & NE 125th St Mobility and Safety Project. Thank you for your patience as we began work and set up traffic control and detours. Continue reading for information on changes to our traffic control plans and upcoming construction.

Closure of 10th Ave NE at NE 125th St

In our last construction update we shared that we planned to maintain local access to 10th Ave NE from NE 125th St. After starting work, we determined that we need to fully close 10th Ave NE at NE 125th St for approximately 3 months. This allows us to do electrical and pavement work and maintain safe access to construction equipment and materials. We are posting signed detour routes in the area to help people navigate this change. See below for an updated detour map.

When possible, we will open 10th Ave NE for local access on weekends but will generally maintain a full closure during working and nonworking hours. Construction activities could require short-notice closures of 10th Ave NE if we were to keep it open and lead to confusion for people traveling through the area. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Upcoming Construction

This Week (November 17-21)

  • Equipment and materials being moved into the project area
  • Demolition for the future roundabout at the intersection of NE 125th St/Roosevelt Way NE and 10th Ave NE. This work will be noisy.

  • Demolition for protected bike lane curbs on NE 125th St between 15th Ave NE and 20th Ave NE
  • No work Nov. 27-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday

Week of December 1

  • Continued demolition and starting of electrical work at the NE 125th St/Roosevelt Way NE and 10th Ave NE intersection
  • Continued demolition for the protected bike lane curbs on NE 125th St between 15th Ave NE and 20th Ave NE

What to Expect During Construction
