Hello!

We’re starting a monthly newsletter to keep you all updated and, hopefully, engaged! Let us know if these are helpful and/or what you’d like to see covered.

NEWS/UPDATES

Oct 15 meeting recap
A group of people in a meeting room, sitting and talking.
About 25 of us met in person at the Lake City Library to talk about relaunching! Neighbors shared their concerns and what they’d like to see in Lake City. Gordon Padelford, director of Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, encouraged us to prioritize community building rather than just diving into problem-solving mode right away. Great advice! We determined that our next steps should be setting up regular communications and meetings and walking or biking together to get to know our streets and our each other!

Going forward, we’ll try to reserve this Google Group for announcements that need wide distribution, like meeting notices, event updates and major news. For more specific conversations and topic-based discussions, we’ll use Discord instead. This allows us to be more organized, keep the emails to a minimum, and communicate easier with the other neighborhood groups.

You can join the general Discord chat with this invite link. We’ll create additional channels as we get started on projects and form committees!
