Hi, friends. You're invited to the Lake City Neighborhood Alliance March meeting at 6:30, Thursday, March 10, on Zoom. We'll send a reminder with the Zoom link several days before the meeting.
Here are a few of the topics we'll be discussing:
Save Our Trees! Many of us are glad that the City is actually proposing a Tree Ordinance, after years of watching some of our beautiful trees vanish while large buildings appear. David Moering from Tree-Pac will talk with us about the importance of having an environmental impact study (EIS) done before Seattle implements new rules for density in low-rise zones, because those rules could impact our tree canopy.
Lake City Community Center: We'll have an update about what is being done to move forward on plans for our Center, and we'll go on a short "tour" of other centers in the city. What ideas do you have regarding what amenities we need in our Lake City Center? Are you interested in helping to plan and implement outreach to keep our needs in front of the eyes of our City Council and other leaders? We need you!
Transit (or lack thereof): We also need to keep up the pressure for the transit changes we need. What's happening since last month? Our presentations from Metro and Sound Transit at our meeting in February gave us more information but didn't really answer all our questions.
Updates from you, our members, on what's happening in your communities.
We hope to see you on March 10! Reminder to come several days before the meeting.
Sally Kinney, Secretary
