Here's an update on Friday night's program.

The Mayor's office, specifically Robert Lieber, Deputy Mayor For Economic Development, determined that a high level executive from the New York City Economic Development Council would be best suited to Keynote LaidOffCampNY's Friday night program. The EDC's COO Tokumbo Shobowale will kick the evening off, he's a Stanford, Columbia M.A., and MIT MBA graduate.

The NYCEDC's Mission
To encourage economic growth in each of the five boroughs of New York City by strengthening the City's competitive position and facilitating investments that build capacity, generate prosperity and catalyze the economic vibrancy of City life as a whole.

Our "Hacking The Job Search" panel is beginning to take shape as well...

Frequent CNBC guest Dr. Doug Hirschhorn, Ph.D. joins LaidOffCampNY's "Hacking The Job Search" Panel. Dr. Doug's very excited to join the panel. He participated in CNBC's Town Hall: "Where the Jobs Are," he's full of energy.

You'll notice that I've cc'd a .gov'er ... Josh Wojehowiski is the Legislative and Budget Director for the Office of Council Member Thomas White Jr.. Josh has been indespensible in not getting us lost in the maze of the city's political halls, and responsible for shining the Mayor's light on LaidOffCampNY. Thanks Josh!
