Relevant Experience: 5+ years
Responsibility:
• 5 years experience in database administration (MS SQL Server)
• Responsibility for constructing and/or optimizing physical database designs for the MS SQL Server database environment in support of various strategic application development initiatives (database/table/object/index/view/trigger/t-Sql, etc.).
• Responsibility for gathering query, CPU & Disk resource requirements for new applications and extensions to existing systems.
• Solid understanding of physical database design and online production support requirements for the MS SQL Server database environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Data Modeling and Data Normalization techniques.
• Undertaking the planning and carrying out of system upgrade initiatives and database recovery actions as required
• Participating on a 24x7 on-call roster providing production database troubleshooting support.
• Query performance monitoring, tuning and recommendation.
• Prepare and present written reports and oral presentations, following research and evaluation.
• Performance tuning, problem identification and resolution in production and development environments.
• Understands the product/technology lifecycle, follow end-of-life and provide recommendation for changes/upgrades
• Strong analytical skills
• Solid understanding of information warehousing and large-scale data management issues and concepts.
• Familiarity and experience with technologies commonly used to connect with MS SQL Server(i.e. SSIS, SSRS, Informatica, etc.)
• Possess effective written and communication skills
• Certified in Database Administration/ Programming
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Oracle Application Database Administrator
Location: Chicago, IL
Relevant Experience: 5+ years
• 5 years experience in database administration (Oracle)
• Responsibility for constructing and/or optimizing physical database designs tailored for the Oracle database environment in support of various strategic application development initiatives (database/table/object/index/view/trigger/package/procedure, etc.).
• Supporting application development timelines by reviewing and assisting in the implementation of designs and/or incremental changes to database definitions.
