Jamie et al,

Way cool!  We are fortunate to have two brave souls offer to help fill the gap!

Micheal Morrow, who has co-hosted perhaps a dozen shows during the past nine years,
...is a retired teacher, the president of PCCFF, Local 2277, and active in AFT-Oreogn
and the AFL-CIO... Michael recently retired and is not running for another term as
president.  He is great on the radio: dynamic, current on all issues, sharp, quick, and
relatively brilliant.  Also a hell of a nice guy.  He now has time to produce great radio!

Michael Crenshaw is a wonderful creative spirit I have been working with online
for the past couple years...  His offer to participate is exciting and we should be
honored.  His experience with the 99% movement, musical genius, and unique
understanding of the partnerships created between the black community, unions,
KBOO, and Ocupy are fabulous (and potent) combinations of assets. Star power!

I think both of these creative, dynamic, activists will raise the level of our delivery,
shows, subjects, and increase the number of listeners from a wide range of demographics.
We should welcome these talents and this diversity of skills as we move forward.

I'm looking forward to getting together July 1st, with both Michaels...
Hopefully a goodly number of us can attend as we plan for the Labor Radio runup to
November.  All these good people, organizers, and artists should predict a great get together!

July 1st works for me!

 with best regards, Tim....

Subject: [laborradio] New collective member & next meeting/ potluck - July 1st

Comrades,
Michael Crenshaw (stage name Mic Crenshaw - check out his facebook page) is a leftist rapper, organizer with We Are Oregon (SEIU),
and activist with Occupy NE the Black Working Group among other interests.  He's down with doing pro-union, working class public affairs
programing, especially from a Black perspective.  He's a talented and experienced performer and familiar with KBOO.  He will get started
with the programmer training and hopes to begin with Labor Radio on first Monday in July (the 2nd).  Angela and I already have worked with him.

We had already set July 1st, 6pm as a potluck at Kevin's house.  I am going to be in Chicago for the Socialism
Conference so I won't be there, but if that date is still convenient for others, lets do it.  Feedback?

Solidarity!
