The DC Public Library system presents “Ancient Greeks / Modern Lives.”

The talks, acting workshop and actor staged reading will discuss “how classical literature influences American culture.”

Two notable talks are Stranger in a Strange Land and From Homer to Hip-Hop that will be delivered by Brett Rogers.

Stranger in a Strange Land will be held tomorrow, Monday, April 30, at the West End Neighborhood Library, 1101 24th Street, NW at 7 PM. (The West End Neighborhood Library is located near the Foggy Bottom Metro Station, and served by the Blue and Orange lines. A walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro station to the library takes approximately five minutes.)

The talk will discuss how Greek mythic hero Odysseus helps us to understand the experience of being a stranger in both foreign (strange) and home lands.
