May is shaping up as a month of conflicted Saturdays. The 27th is a
holiday -- Memorial Day -- and the 13th is the weekend of the Vintage
Computer Festival. Now the 20th is problematic as well, as I have
family matters to attend to.
I was thinking of switching the meeting time to a weeknight. This might
be a timely seasonal move, as it is difficult to imagine a big LUG
turnout on summer Saturdays.
How would the evening of May 25 [Thursday] be for this month's meeting?
Also, any thoughts on switching to weeknights for the summer months?

Barring that, weekday nights aren't a bad option, again assuming
meeting at InfoAge. Even as far south as Toms River should be OK, if
shore traffic isn't too bad, as long as I can get there after work.
Thursday are generally bad, though, as that's when both JSARS and HCARC
(two more radio clubs) meet. Wednesdays are also a no-go.
BTW, if any of you are interested in ham radio, I know some *great*
guys who can help you get started. :)

Our scheduled speaker for this month, Bob Johnson, cannot attend
weeknight meetings as he lives far away in Mays Landing.
I suggest we hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 24, say around 8:00pm, at
InfoAge. Fred Carl, the site's director, said he can attend an evening
meeting. He could give us a tour of InfoAge, and we could ask him
questions about what his requirements -- $$$/volunteer labor -- would
be for using InfoAge as a home for our LUG. Thus, we could gauge
whether InfoAge is a suitable venue for our group. If we decide
otherwise, we could visit Brookdale at a later meeting, as we have been
offered space there as well.
Give me a heads up if Wednesday night is ok. In the meanwhile, I will
ask Fred if he can attend our meeting on that date.
Cheers,
Glenn
