To all,

May is shaping up as a month of conflicted Saturdays. The 27th is a
holiday -- Memorial Day -- and the 13th is the weekend of the Vintage
Computer Festival. Now the 20th is problematic as well, as I have
family matters to attend to.

I was thinking of switching the meeting time to a weeknight. This might
be a timely seasonal move, as it is difficult to imagine a big LUG
turnout on summer Saturdays.

How would the evening of May 25 [Thursday] be for this month's meeting?
Also, any thoughts on switching to weeknights for the summer months?

On a strictly personal level, the second Saturday afternoon is probably
best on an ongoing basis if we meet at InfoAge. OMARC, the radio club,
meets that morning, and we're usually at the Diana site by noon or so.
This month, that's in conflict with VCF, of course.

Barring that, weekday nights aren't a bad option, again assuming
meeting at InfoAge. Even as far south as Toms River should be OK, if
shore traffic isn't too bad, as long as I can get there after work.
Thursday are generally bad, though, as that's when both JSARS and HCARC
(two more radio clubs) meet. Wednesdays are also a no-go.

BTW, if any of you are interested in ham radio, I know some *great*
guys who can help you get started. :)

I may have a little league game. I'll have to double check.

I do have a little league game on Thursday, May 25. The game should end
at around 7:45pm.

To all,

Our scheduled speaker for this month, Bob Johnson, cannot attend
weeknight meetings as he lives far away in Mays Landing.

I suggest we hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 24, say around 8:00pm, at
InfoAge. Fred Carl, the site's director, said he can attend an evening
meeting. He could give us a tour of InfoAge, and we could ask him
questions about what his requirements -- $$$/volunteer labor -- would
be for using InfoAge as a home for our LUG. Thus, we could gauge
whether InfoAge is a suitable venue for our group. If we decide
otherwise, we could visit Brookdale at a later meeting, as we have been
offered space there as well.

Give me a heads up if Wednesday night is ok. In the meanwhile, I will
ask Fred if he can attend our meeting on that date.

Cheers,

Glenn

To all,

May doesn't seem to be working out, LUG-meeting-wise that is. Be back in touch regarding a June confab.
