I always look forward to the ltpeace messages, but now realize that I haven't gotten any this year!  Just wondering if the group has broken up, or if it's just that I'm off the list.

Regards to all anyway,

Sandy (Klock) Cody

Sandy,  I just checked and found out that the last email from this address came in November.  I don't know why it has been silent,  Several of us our on Facebook.

Ken's wife and our classmate Wicki passed on a few months ago.  The funeral service was very nice and certainly helped us to celebrate a life well lived and devoted to making this a better world. If was a Quaker service and gave about 40 of a chance to share some uplifting stories about her.

Hi,Sandy! Happy new year, everyone! And happy Presidents' Day, and everything in between.  No, the group hasn't broken up. I, for one, haven't had anything new to say and I think each of us is handling our own day-to-day and ongoing stuff without bringing it up in the group. I keep up with e-mail and Facebook and, with health issues as my excuse, don't get as much done otherwise as I used to. We should all be thinking of Anne as she goes through her situation. Facebook helps there with the Anne Allaman Updates group.

I can only read so much about he Trump situation, so I haven't tried to start any conversations here.

Thanks for posting, Sandy.

Hi, Sandy, Dick, Doug, Kathy, Rich and maybe others.  I’m sort of like Dick.  I’ve tired of hearing about Trump.  When I’m on FB, I try to forward photos and articles that are positive in nature or get all of us to think about social justice issues.  I am a friend with a person in Oregon who sends wonderful photographs of all sorts of nature items, and so I forward many of them.

Fortunately, my health has been very good.  I am blessed in this way, and I realize it.

To let everyone know, I’ve recently begun to date a woman. Wicky was the only woman I ever dated seriously.

This is a woman that I’ve known somewhat to begin with.  We have things in common.  We enjoy each other’s presence and have fun when we are together. She makes me happy. You feel like you’re a young adult again when you do this.

I’m not asking for your responses, but so far, everyone in my family and others who I have told this to, are happy for me.  They realize how close and loving Wicky and I were, but that it is natural to find someone else to be with.

Keep in touch everyone.

Ken

One positive thing I have noted is that women and minorities are running for local, state and Federal offices in droves, including conservative York County where I live.  This is so encouraging.

We're still going steady Sandy dear.

I'm still working unlike my wealthy retired classmates.  Since we have a Chicago election in a week, I'm very busy today and not likely to have time to chat today.  More to follow.

2 ltr sedentary and in cpap at night. 3 walking around. 4 climbing stairs.

The prednisone to kill and keep away the organizing inflammatory pneumonia is making my sugars go nuts so we are controlling with Lantus and Humalog.

I’m sorry to hear this update, Rich.  I thought you had recovered enough from your pneumonia that you only needed O2 when walking any distance.  The prednisone doesn’t help weight control either.  Hang in their, Rich.  Anne loves you dearly and as a nurse she can watch over you closely.

Not so dire. I am off O2 more and more each day and took a leisurely shower without this morning with no ill effects. In a week or so I expect to turn it off when sedentary.

Yes indeed, I do love my Blondie Girl nurse. She has persistently and steadfastly postponed my final step, going to Med School (as a demonstrator cadaver).

Hi, Dick and all who responded -- good to hear from you all again!

I am a Luddite, and not on Facebook, so wouldn't have seen anything there.  But I'm sending my very best wishes to you, and Rich, and Anne, and all who have been ill!

And a very special wish to Dr. Ken -- so very sorry to hear about Wicky!  You must be devastated, and I hope memories of your happy life together will bring you some comfort.

Again, good to hear from everyone!

Sandy

I'm right with you, Rich,  but I'm glad to see you're getting better! I'm on 3 liters sitting around and in my CPAP at night, 4 liters walking around and going out and about with my portable concentrator. That all varies a bit, and I'm usually out of breath after walking up stairs. The cats are no help -- last evening I thought the O2 was a little weak as I watched TV, and I found (another) spot where the long hose was split. I taped it up and things were fine. I don't see any prospect for getting off the stuff -- I've come around to that, but I'd love to be surprised. A month or two after the oxygen was first prescribed (in 2015?), I started feeling much better and went off it for a while, maybe about three months. But then the lungs got bad again. And I'm taking 5mg of prednisone, recently cut back from 10, plus a bunch of other pills to hold off lung inflammation due to rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Heart stuff seems to be under control with meds and a pacemaker, and the pulmonologist has me on a small dose of generic Viagra to combat pulmonary hypertension. Yee-ha!

Dick,

Thanks for your post.

I may be coming out for my 55th from Carleton this June.  Will you be around and up for a visit then?
