as-Salamu 'alaykum wa Rahmatullaah wa Barakaatuh,

Ibn al-Jaziri (rahimahullaah) said in his famous poem detailing the rules of tajweed: ï؟½And applying Tajweed is an issue of absolute necessity, Whoever doesnï؟½t apply Tajweed to the Qurï؟½an, then a sinner is he.ï؟½ Thus, the scholars have said that the theoretical component of tajweed is fard kifayah (some of the muslim community must know it) and that the practical knowledge of tajweed is what's fard 'ayn (required by every Muslim).

I have good news for my dear sisters in Islam.

Tarteel Al-Quran Al-Kareem Institute will be commencing new Qur'an/Tajweed classes for women at the Hume Islamic Youth Centre (HIYC): 1-15 motto drive
Coolararoo (Roxburgh Park).

Enrollment will take place at the HIYC on Wednesday 13th of October from 12.30pm.

Inshaa'Allaah the following classes will be offered:

1. Beginners Level 1- English

2. Beginners Level 1- Arabic

3. Advanced Level- English (for students who have already completed and passed their Beginners English)

4. Advanced Level- Arabic (for students who have completed and passed their Beginners Arabic)

There is a possibility that they will also start Iqraa (Reading) classes but that will be depending on different circumstances.

These classes are for the serious students as the course not only covers perfecting the reading of the Quran, but the theory of Tajweed in detail.

[Ahmad, al-Nasa'i]   The Qur'an is the greatest companion you can ever have. Unlike much of Mankind, the Qur'an is there for you through thick and thin, without fail. Take it as a leader and it shall lead you to Paradise, don't abandon it or cast it behind you for it shall then drag you into the Fire.
