I have been planning agendas for regular meetings.  I have not yet confirmed a venue we can use regularly but more than likely it will be Bemis.  Bemis is only available on Saturdays or Sundays.  I have the following agenda topics so far, but would appreciate your additional suggestions and response.

Calendar of Meeting Agendas and Events

1.  March 10: 2012 Public Policy Forum. Framingham State College, Dwight Performing Arts Center, 100 State Street, Framingham.  RSVP to pol...@massdems.org or call Clare Kelly at (617) 939-0800

2.  LDTC Meeting, date TBD in late March: Young Democrats of Massachusetts - a presentation by Elaine Almquist.  "Young" is defined as anyone under 36 years of age.  I will produce a list of Lincoln Democrats under 36.  Also presentation by Grandmothers for Obama by Betsy Hatfield and Peggy Smertzler.  Intiate voter registration drive.

3.  March 24: Lincoln Town Meeting.  Needed candidates and volunteers to hold signs at beginning of Town Meeting.  Committee members advocating certain candidates, push candidates to provide posters.

4. April 2: Congressman Barney Frank talk - Monday, April 2nd at 7:00 p.m.. Weston Middle School, Amy Potter Center, 456 Wellesley Street, Weston hosted by the Weston Democratic Town Committee. I believe other candidates will be available in the lobby prior to start of the event. Flier to follow.

 Hi All,

There is an article in the March12 American Prospect by Harold Meyerson describing Wall Street's Third Party, the creation of financier Peter Ackerman, a 65 year old private equity executive.  It is called Americans Elect.  They have already raised $22 million dollars, of which 55 donors each gave more than $100,000.  They seek to update the nominee-selection process for the digital age through on-line voting.  They are looking to create a political vehicle for the socially tolerant, fiscally conservative financial establishment that Ackerman, and the colleagues he's persuaded to join the organiation's leadership personify.   eleanor
