We are currently searching to fill a postdoctoral fellow position in our labs (Rusty Wright and myself) at Auburn University as a part of our ongoing large-scale study of the effects of lock-and-dam structures on riverine fish populations. An announcement concerning the position can be found at http://aub.ie/IC-postdoc (a link for applications can also be found at that link). This is part of an overall research effort that has spanned more than 10 years, including numerous graduate students, undergraduate students, and technicians working in both the field and lab, involving questions that span the diverse fields of physiological ecology/fish respirometry, ETS analysis, movement ecology/tracking/hard part microchemistry, genetics, and simulation modeling. Our project has been focused on the lower Alabama River, primarily with paddlefish and smallmouth buffalo; however, plans are to expand further upriver and perhaps into other systems, incorporating more smaller-bodied and weaker swimming fishes. The project is large, exciting, and continues to produce lots of opportunities!!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Dennis DeVries (dev...@auburn.edu) or check out http://aub.ie/IC-postdoc for more information.
