Liberia Scout Association Calls On MOE
The Inquirer - Garmonyou Wilson
Sep 17, 2010

The Liberia Scout Association (LSA) is calling on the Ministry of
Education (MOE) to have schools across the country to put emphasis on
French in their classrooms. The Chief Commissioner of the LSA, Dr.
Hanson K. Hanson made the disclosure recently at the LSA Headquarters
on Gurley Street in Monrovia. Dr. Hanson stated that many Liberian
scouts have been traveling to various parts of the globe through the
LSA and one of the requisites for the scouts leaving is to be
bilingual. The Chief Commissioner stated that when the Ministry
regulates schools to make sure that students learn a second language,
they at the LSA would double the Ministry's efforts by giving after
school tutoring to its LSA members.

"Currently there are several trips for LSA members to travel to
various parts of the globe," the LSA Head said, "but most of Liberian
scouts don't have the proper prerequisites to go." Meanwhile the
Liberia Scout Association has dismissed with immediate effect Wendel
Weah and Aloysius Smith for not carrying the image of the organization
properly.
