~The following story is seen throughout the world, on all channels as the News breaks into all programming~

 

 

A massive earthquake has just hit Cairo, Egypt.  It appears to have been centered somewhere in the Giza plato.

Already reports of deaths are coming in from throughout the Cairo area.  We will bring you more information

as it becomes available.  Again a massive earthquake has just been reported in Cairo, Egypt

 

 

~As the minutes roll by the story begins to unfold more~

 

Geologists are confirming that an Earthquake of about 8.2 magnitude has hit Cairo, Egypt, it is centered

on the Giza plato.  Reports throughout the Cairo area are of massive destruction and death.  It is believed

the death toll is likely already in the hundreds, if not thousands. 

Satelite imagery of the area shows a massive cloud of dust from the event raising into the air. 

Other reports say the quake has been felt as far away as Beirut, Lebanon.

 

~The minutes turn into over an hour with little further information. When through the miracle of Satelite

communication all the major News channels begin to carry the same picture.  A woman stand in front of

a camera, her hair is a mess, there is dried blood along the side of her face.  She is outside and it is dark.~

 

"We on the air? We ready?  Ok... This is Stacy Devers with CNN.  We are in Alexandria, Egypt about 100 miles

from Cairo.  It's uhm..". *She looks at her watch* "11 Am here, and as you can see it's dark as night.  Robert

pan the came over there."  *She points to her left and the camera man follows, you can really see alot as the signal

is weak, but you can make out shattered building outlines, debris, there are bodies laying in the street near where

they are standing.  Stacy continues talking*  "About 10 am the earthquake struck, it wasn't long after that the sky

won't dark.  You can't see the sun at all through the dark clouds of what I can only assume is dust from the quake.

We haven't heard from anyone inside of Cairo as of yet.  We are running on back up generators here at the hotel

we are at.  There's just...just so many dead.  Wha...what's happening..oh god not again!"

*Just then the camera starts to shake violently and then the picture is lost.  News channels return to their anchors after

a few moments reports start coming in of another earthquake of a magnitude of about 6.0 again centered on the

Giza plato*

 

~As the day progresses more reports continue to come in.  Noone is able to get near Cairo as the dust and debris is far to

great, all the roads within 100 miles of Cairo are completely destroyed.  Aircraft are unable to fly as the dust in the air and

visibility is to low.  Cairo a metropolitan area of over 20 million people, remains completely silent.  People began

to fear the worst as geologists and other scientists begin to speculate on how bad things really are.  Throughout

the day several smaller earthquakes hit the area,  Reports of massive thunderstorms also start coming in from surronding

areas, though again noone is able to get close then 100 miles of Cairo)~

 

FURTHER INFORMATION ALL VENUES

 

All attempts to get to the Cairo area through Pyschic Projection, the Umbra, The Dreaming or the Shadowlands fail.

There is an impeneratable 100 mile barrier of darkness and storms across all realms.

 

GAROU VENUE ONLY

 

All Silent Striders take on 2 levels of lethal damage at the instant of the first Earthquake and are now 1 trait down

on all Frenzy challenges but also now have +1 Rage.  (This may exceed Rank caps).

 

VAMPIRE VENUES ONLY

 

All Setites and Serpents of the Light that are currently awake begin to feel very weak, and are barely able to make it

to their havens before falling into torpor.  Those who are already asleep for the day, do not wake up as the evening

falls.

 

CHANGELING VENUE ONLY

 

All Changelings take 2 points of Temporary Banality (Sidhe take 4) due to the massive banality hit across the globe

due to an impossibly high number of deaths.  All bale fires flicker massively, almost going out at the moment of the

Earthquake, then quickly regain their strength.
