Hey, please help me, It's very urgent folks.
I started recording a script in Vugen with Google chrome, but some
times it's crashing and some other times, it's not crashing however
it's not recording any thing.

I am new to this Load Runner, so i can't even analyse what may be the
problem.

My Vugen version is: 9.5.2
My chrome version is:13.0.782.220

Do I have to install still some more Patches?

Let me know even it's some thing related to Proxy or Firewall and I
need to change settings.

Confused!!! Need help.. Thanks in advance....

1. Read your software requirements
2. Confirm your core skills
3. Go to training
4. Get involved in an apprenticeship/mentoring program with an
established mentor for this profession
5. Mature in your role
6. Get awarded the Green Blazer as a winning team member
7. Become a mentor to the next generation

Items 1-4 are the most pressing here. If you have not bothered to
address 1-3 before you tough the tool in anger then you will be lost
for years.

hi surya,
If you are using 64 bit operating system your load runner 9.5 version doesn't record anything. You have to use load runner 11 version.

Thanks,
Shiva

64 bit recording is not supported in LR 11 either, but 64-bit load
generation (load generator) is supported.

Try to listen the specific port of the application via port mapping and see if it works.

You have three options

(1) Change your browser to a supported browser

(2) Change your version of LoadRunner to a version which supports your
browser

(3) Treat your browser as if it is a foreign operating system component and
record as a man-in-the-middle proxy solution

As far as I recall, loadrunner supports recording only in Internet Explorer, moreover, not all versions are supported, I think that for LR 9.5 you can only use ie 7.0, my advice is to check the LR documentation.

Good luck

Val  you can use  custom browser option , set  it for example to :  Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB7.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.450  which will support IE8 version  during recording even if you using LR more early version than 9,5

That announcement string option in the run time settings is for replay, not recording.   You can record on browser type X and then replay with an announcement string of Y.    This comes into play if your backend has conditional code for front end HTML generation based upon browser type, such as one code path for IE and another for every other browser.
