HI Experts,

Is their any alternative(except zip) to reduce the vugen scripts. I have created one script for sharepoint application and size is more than 3GB. So i am not aware what folder should i delete to make file size smaller.

Any kind advice is highly appreciated

Wow, first question is what is the file size of the vuser_init.c, Action.c and vuser_end.c files. If your files are that big, how about breaking down the script to better performance stories. If the problem is in your data files that accompany the script take a look at Virtual Table Service and seperate the data from the script pacakges.

Second question is does this script really performance test or is it a functional test in performance disguise. Does this script test the performance architecture and not the functional features.

There will be lots of unwanted results file that you might have stored in the script folder. Delete those
You can also delete the various iterations that you have ran the script for which are also stored in the script directory.
Also for further reductions you can give a snapshot of the script directory so that people can tell you exactly what can be deleted.

The basic script of the loadrunner can never be of 3 GB.

Step one is to export as zip file:
Menu FIle / Manage Zip Files / Export to Zip File...
And select "Files to zip" = "Runtime files"!
Then the resulting zip file will contain only those files needed for running the script on a load generator. Thus Vugen has cleaned it up for you -- no need to delete folders or files manually.

If that script (in the new zip file) is still too large then you have to seriously rethink your approach of how to load test your application.

The best way is to open the script at VuGen and then create zip file with 'runtime files' only

From main menu :  File -> Manage zip file -> Export to zip file

 select [] Runtime files

or delete the following files

mdrv.log
mdrv_cmd.txt
options.txt
pre_cci.c
.ci
combined_.c
output.txt
debug.inf
All files with .idx extension
All files with .bak extension
The Result1 folder and it’s contents

Have you considered that perhaps you have identified your first performance defects due to the sizes of the data flows between client and server?

Can you check size of your output log file also check if there are any snapshots I think they are stored in bmp is required if not you can remove them.

I have deleted the logs folder and above said files. The script file size reduced to 475 MB.
Thanks
