hey everyone,
i know this isn't really the time to think about this, it's such a flurry right now, but UC Hastings just emailed and said our reserved date is no longer available.

After conversations with Jen and Janine and Jane, i'm wondering if perhaps we should hold off on spending all the effort to produce a full day conference on this subject. The first year we made money, but this most recent year yielded less than 1,000, and if you count all of the untold hours of labor that all of us spent on this, it really cost us quite a bit.

we shouldn't let go of this name or sliver of the literary pie. we do have one panel in the main festival this year about the future of publishing. perhaps that's a model we can expand upon. digi.lit could become a series of panels, or an afternoon of programming within the main festival next year.

it's something to seriously consider. perhaps tuck this in the back of your brain, and we can discuss it more after the festival wraps.

i don't think we should discard the idea of having it as a paid conference that begins the festival. but yeah, way too much work for not enough payoff!
