to LPG Users -Philippines

Dear Friends,

When I saw this groupe on Google I really appreciated to join... I
hope that the groupe will help to improve the LPG market in
Philipines... I want to share some of my experiences from Turkey and
want to get your responces too...

Turkey started to use the LPG in automobiles at 1996 with a local
standart (we call TS11939). Some volunteers and pioneers did many
trials in the beginning period but some technical missings, poor
experiences and legal restrictions prevent the business development
before this time... After 1996 the Turkish government forced the
market with tax reduction + legal approvals + developed standarts and
special LAW for LPG Market...

The baby was borned with full support of government and after 3 years
the market became very powerfull and covered all country with approx.
4500 stations... in meantime, car convertion companies started to
import some tool and systems from some foreign countries.... the
business gave a direction to them to produce local products because of
feasability...

Hugh explosion of LPG station quantities gave to all market to enter
easily and to produce some dispensers and pump in local... Turkey
transfered all techologies quickly and improved all by own market
players.... After 4 years of beginning the market looks like this:

50 local LPG distribution company
5000 stations
750.000 cars converted
10 dispenser and station equipment producer
6 car conversion equipment producer
80 legal inspection officers
1 national laboratory for metering system calibration as (National
Metrology Institute - UME)
1,5 million tons/year Autogas sales....

I have to point that Turkey has not got own LPG production... has not
got petroleum sources.... however we have strong petroleum and LPG
producer neighbours arround country.... like Russia, Iran, Iraq,
Algeria, etc.

Another key point, all companies in LPG was private... government
never participated as player to LPG market... government just
regulated the market, puts some rules on table.... finally after 12
years of market... we have strong rules, highly qualified techologies
(incl. remote control, remote servicing, automation, satelite
tracking, royality cards, etc.), brand new stations and relatively
cheap fuel...

I will write more details about many thing at the following days....

I want to send my best regards to all friends in Philipines..... I
came to Philipines twice and I had amezing and unforgetable days in
Cebu and Manila....
