Science Bits: "The burning of garbage transforms solid waste into more harmful gaseous wastes."

The open burning of solid waste carries the penalty of "Payment in the amounts not less than Three Hundred Pesos (P300) but not more than One Thousand Pesos OR Imprisonment of not less than one day to not more than fifteen days or both. (Part V, Section 3 of Philippine   R.A. 9003 )

Hi Eric,

We know that there are now available conversion kits for diesel engines. The usage is 30% LPG and 70%diesel. The result is a very clean combustion (no more smoke belching) and 35-50% increased efficiency. The kits are currently being tried on a couple of jeepneys and buses. The cost ranges from P70-120t.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Tony

Dear Tony,

as we all know diesel engines are mainly used for heavy lifting...What about the total output power?

coz from what i've heard for gasoline conversions the accelerationn is affected.

I am not an expert here, but I understand that the diesel engine can only allow a combustion of up to 70%. Therefore, adding LPG will allow a 100% combustion. The power should increase significantly.
