Although prices of Gasoline and Diesel roll back took effect midnight, which was less P2.-/liter, unfortunately AutoGas still remains the same.  Clean Fuel is still at 29.75/liter today while Total and Petron is P 31.31.  I'm wondering why such a big difference against Clean Fuel? Php 1.56 difference!

I've been using Clean Fuel since i discovered them 15 full tanks ago only because they are cheaper. But lately i have been experiencing slightly worse fuel consumption readings and less torque than usual. I am attributing it to an exhaust leak which was repaired yesterday.

This morning i filled up 45 liters at Total to see if there is any difference in consumption and power.  Will post results.

Do you notice any difference between the different retailers?

Cheers!

Yes, just the other night I had a nice discussion with a friend who had just converted to LPG/Autogas  ... he strongly claims that some stations (brands) of LPG give him much more mileage.  Like, for every P500 pesos, one brand can bring him 10kms more than the other brand.  And it was *not necessarily* the higher priced Autogas that gave him the better performance.

regarding price increase and roll backs ... I am worried and half expecting that one day, the price of LPG will be the same as Gasoline.  Not very long ago, Diesel was almost half the price of Gasoline... now, it is just a shade lower.  hayyy...

We should be more vigilant then and post our observations on the different stations and brands.

Diesel was subsidized by the government since the Marcos era.  I believe this has ceased only recently.  This subsidy was to keep prices of consumer goods down to make it more affordable for Pedro and Juan.  That's the only reason why it was cheaper in manila compared to other parts of the world which was the exact opposite. Mas mahal Diesel compared to gasoline everywhere else... correct me if i am wrong. Bata pa kasi ako nun. ;)  Anyway this is also one of the reasons i no longer promote Autogas because i feel when the volume increases and government takes notice, instead of the prices going lower it most probably will go higher.  It's not that i don't want to share but it's quite similar to convincing a conversion of religion. I'll leave the doubting thomas' alone and happy where they are.
