To all members of the NM Mental Health Counselors' Association:
I wanted to introduce myself to you, as I will begin my service as
your President at the end of this fiscal year. I am delighted to be
able to provide leadership in this capacity, and I sincerely hope that
you will choose to become actively involved with the association.
I am a semi-retired person these days, having ended a 32-year long
Counseling career that was dominated by 26 years of Private Practice.
I continue to see a few clients, and I also do public speaking. My
great love is writing, and my work features both professional pieces
as well as fiction. This period of my life is a nice punctuation mark
for a very long and rewarding professional experience.
Please be alerted that NMMHCA will host a workshop on April 12 at The
Lodge in Cloudcroft. It will offer you the opportunity to garner 6
hours of continuing education credit, 6 of Ethics or 3 Ethics and 3
Supervision. We will kick off the event with a complimentary cocktail
party on Friday, April 11, at my home between Cloudcroft and Mayhill.
My precious husband will tend bar (which will, of course, include non-
alcoholic options), and there will be snacks aplenty. We certainly
hope that you will join us. Flyers and registration forms have gone
out in previous newsletters...and will again in the future. In the
meantime, you are welcome to direct questions to me at
575-687-2556.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, and I hope to see you in
Cloudcroft as April touches the Sacramentos. And, as we like to say
here, you will find yourself 9,000 feet above stress level!
Warm regards,
Suzanne Schmidt
